Community

Oxley Primary School is grateful for the volunteering efforts of our families and community members. Their generous contribution of time and support helps make our school a welcoming place for children to learn and grow.

School Council

Our School Council is comprised of parent representatives and school employees and plays an important role in informing the direction of our school. It allows for two-way communication between families and school leadership, ensuring our community has confidence in us. School Council's duties include providing guidance on the OSHC program, grounds maintenance and student free days.

All parents are welcome to nominate to join the school council and all parents are entitled to vote for council members. The term of office is two-years and School Council meets at least eight times a year. Members need to have a Working with Children Check.

If you are interested in joining school council, upcoming elections will be communicated via uEducateUs or speak to Principal, Tim Seal or Business Manager, Scott Dodgshun for more information.

Parents and Friends

Oxley Primary School has an active and inclusive Parents and Friends group that plays an important role in our school life. Through fundraising and community events, the group helps bring families together and enrich the Oxley Primary School experience. Highlights include the Trivia Night, Wine Drive and Dinner, the Oxley Bush Market, and special hot lunches for students.

New families are always welcome to get involved. Whether you can help a little or a lot, all skills are valued, from IT and metalwork to event hosting and BBQ cooking and baking. It’s a great way to support the school and get to know your community.

Netball

In 2025 Oxley was able to field a Junior and Senior netball team in the Wangaratta Netball Association competition. Organised and coached by some dedicated parents the team made amazing growth in their netball skills, built their friendship and team work skills and had fun.

The teams train on Tuesday's after school with the Junior (Grade 2/3) team playing on Fridays and the Senior (Grade 4/5/6) team playing on Saturday mornings.

If your child would like to play or if you have an interest in managing the team or coaching please let us know.
